I cannot see my Facebook ad data in Madgicx. What do I do?

Sometimes, Meta loses its connection to Madgicx, meaning your data won't display. This can happen for a number of reasons, such as when you make changes to your Meta ad account or update admin permissions.

Here are the steps to reconnect Meta to Madgicx:

1. Refresh your ad account data to refetch it. Click the refresh button on the right of the ad account in question on the Manage connected ad accounts page and wait a few moments.

2. If refreshing your connection doesn’t work, you should reauthenticate your ad account to reconnect it to Madgicx on the Manage connected ad accounts page.

3. Check your ad data on both Meta and Madgicx over the same timeframe to confirm they're the same.

While Madgicx doesn't offer Google ad management functionality, it offers a cross-channel reporting tool called One-Click Report, which lets you monitor your performance across Google ads, Meta ads, TikTok, GA4, Shopify, and Klaviyo.

Clicking the Creatives button on the main Madgicx menu takes you to the “My AI Generations” page. Otherwise, click the first item on the Creatives menu.

If you hover over an image ad in the Ad Library, an “Ad Gen AI” button will appear. When clicked, it will also bring up the prompt screen. 

You can find all your AI-generated ads under the “My AI Generations” menu tab at the top of the page.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to control the budget at an ad level, so you can’t set up an automation to do this.

You can ensure each ad has the same budget if each ad set only has one ad in it. This ensures that the ad set budget is allocated to the single ad entirely.

For prebuilt automation tactics, the relevant event needs to have been triggered at least once in order to select a metric for a tactic. For custom automations, however, any metric can be selected whether or not the event has been triggered before.

While you can’t see the audience size and potential reach before launching a new one using the Audience Launcher, you can find this information once launched in the Audience Studio when clicking Top Audiences in the 360-degree Account Audit submenu. 

It’s important to note that the actual audience size is determined by your targeted location and ad set settings in Facebook after you’ve launched it.

To clarify, Pixel tracking is based solely on the Meta Pixel data, while domain tracking includes aggregated events measurement based on your website’s domain. This means that with domain tracking enabled, you can accurately track user actions on your website. Using the Conversions API is mandatory on Meta to ensure you have a comprehensive tracking system in place to record this activity.

Meta’s potential reach is an estimation based on sample data applied worldwide. The actual reach may differ and is only calculated once the audience is created. As such, the same calculation is used in Madgicx. Furthermore, once the audience is launched, its actual size will start appearing in insights on both Meta and Madgicx as it gathers the data. 

The reason why the estimated and actual audience sizes vary is that it depends greatly on the location you’re targeting, as well as the targeting parameters you’ve configured in the ad set settings.

Madgicx primarily works with the Meta Pixel to track website activity, but we partly support Facebook SDK. Our automation and analytics tools should work perfectly for SDK. However, we currently don’t support creating audiences based on SDK event tracking.

No, this isn’t possible. Facebook only allows for uploading a customer list for this kind of targeting. It doesn’t support cross-platform targeting. If you have access to this data, you can upload it as a custom audience by uploading a customer list to the Meta Ads Manager.

While having a website is ideal, options are still available for both retargeting and retention campaigns.
For re-engagement, you can create custom audiences of your Facebook and Instagram fans and users who’ve watched your videos and ads, and you can target users who’ve engaged with your social media pages.

Then, for retention, you can upload a customer list to the Meta Ads Manager to create a custom audience based on these details. You need to export the list from your email subscriber list, a CRM, or similar. By doing this, you can target your existing customers with ads to drive further engagement and repeat sales.

Currently, we don’t support launching Advantage+ Shopping campaigns from Madgicx. We recommend submitting a feature request and checking our release notes.

This is likely because you’ve created Custom audiences, not the Madgicx audience presets you see listed. When you include multiple targeting variables or if you combine audiences, it creates a custom audience that falls under the ‘Other’ category. 

With many variables available to include in your targeting, we recommend simplifying the process when you’re starting. By segmenting audiences, you can analyze how each audience performs and identify the best targeting settings for you. 

Furthermore, when using this process, you can build a high-performing audience with the data that you’ve learned as you go along.

If your ad sets display under Other, look at the category stage on the left that indicates the stage this audience falls under. You can click the blue ad set count number to open Ads Manager to view the audience settings.

1. Head to Audience Launcher in the Madgicx menu. 
2. You can scroll down until you reach the funnel stage you want to target or use the filter on the left to find it. Then you can explore the list of preset audience options that Madgicx has created.

3. Select the audience presets you want to include by clicking them, then click ‘Next.’

4. Choose the campaign(s) to launch your audience(s) into. You can use Madgicx’s optimized structure and set the campaign objective, use an existing one, or create a new campaign.

5. Next, select the ads you want to use. You can use the same ads for all the ad sets by highlighting all the audiences at the top of the page or do this one by one. We recommend using different ads for different funnel stages.

You can adjust the timeframe and use the filter to search for specific ads. Click “Save Changes” to continue. 

6. Set the locations for the target audiences. You can include and exclude countries according to your ad strategy. Again, you can use the same settings for all ad sets or do this one by one.

7. Then, finish configuring the settings for your audience(s) and click “Save Changes.”

8. Here, you set when you want to launch your audience(s) and define your naming convention. At the bottom of the screen, you’ll see a summary of your ad sets with their relevant settings. Once you’re happy with them, click the blue ‘Launch’ button at the top right.

9. That’s it! You’re done.

Firstly, it’s always better to pause your ads than to delete them. This way, you preserve your data.

By clicking the blue numbers in the Live/Created column where the red arrow is pointing in the image below, you will go to Meta Ads Manager and see a list of these ad sets. Find the ones you want and pause them.

You can do this by looking at your Targeting Insights Across the Full Funnel widget. There you can see whether you’re missing any funnel stages and audience types.

To fix this, go through each funnel stage to ensure audiences are in place for each one. To summarize, the missing data is what we’re looking for. See the red boxes below.

The red boxes in the image above indicate where you are missing audience data. Your sales funnel is incomplete without Acquisition Prospecting, Acquisition Re-Engagement, Retargeting, and Retention audiences in place. We can increase performance by targeting these people.

1. Select your top ad copy and click Open in Ads Launcher.
2. Launch your top ad copy in the Ads Launcher by matching it with the top creative using the Creative Clusters tab.

You can start by looking at the Assets Chart. From here, you can watch out for any pieces of copy that appear in the overspend section on the bottom right area of the graph. These pieces of copy are spending more money than they are bringing in. Therefore, the ads using these pieces of copy should have their budget reduced, or you should pause them.

Subsequently, you should watch out for any ad copy elements that appear in the scalable section at the top left of the graph. These pieces of copy are more profitable while spending less of your ad budget. Therefore, you should duplicate the ads containing these elements or increase the ad budget.

Overall, you should use these insights as a basis for writing your ads. When you identify the copy elements that perform, they indicate that you should use them in creating your next ads to improve the chance of profitable results.

Screenshot your most relevant data to compile a client report. Simple as that.

You can look at the Assets Chart and see where the ad copy elements appear. Pieces of copy that are in the green area are your top performers, as they drive more revenue than they spend.

You can then set the Smart Filter with the audience parameters you want to analyze. As a result, the ad copy elements shown are relevant to your audience segment, and you can compare the performance between each piece of copy.

If the ad is a new combination from Creative Clusters, Madgicx needs a few minutes to generate a new preview. If you get an error saying “preview is not available,” please reopen the browser and clear the cache, then the previews should pop up.

Still can't see the previews? It may indicate a permissions issue. Please reach out to the support team for further assistance.

This is a possible issue for US-based users: as the US Facebook policy prevents creating location-based lookalike audiences, so if created on Madgicx, they’ll appear on the ads manager as ‘retired’.

To fix this issue and re-assign the location, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Ads Manager and find the 'retired' ad set
2. Go to the audience panel and manually remove all locations
3. After removing all locations, click on the button labeled Remove Locations: it should be on the error message
4. Hit Publish
5. A red mark indicating an error will show but the ad set will turn green and the audience will change from "disabled" to "ready"
6. Finally, add the locations through the ad set setting.

That’s it! Now your audiences should be fully functional. If the issue persists, please reach out to the support team for further assistance.

There are a few possible reasons for ad sets launching without any ads:

• Wrong objective: when the new ad sets objective does not match the campaign objective. To fix it, try recreating the ad sets but pick the same objective as the campaign.
• Disconnected page: when the ads are picked from a Facebook page that is not connected to the ad account. Even though users can choose ads from multiple Facebook pages, choosing a page that is not connected to the ad account will prevent ads from populating. To fix it, try connecting the Facebook page to your ad account through the Ad Manager, or choose ads from a different source.
• If none of these solutions is appropriate, please reach out to the support team for further assistance.

• If you have selected to launch the ads at a specific time, or used Madgicx time optimization, then have no fear—your ad sets turn on at the scheduled time.
• If you chose Launch Immediately, or the ad sets did not turn on at the scheduled time, please reach out to the support team for further assistance.

Your ad or campaign must be serving impressions to show in Madgicx.

If you launch your campaign or ad immediately, allow some time for it to show in the Ads Manager 2.0. Don’t forget your ad needs to be approved by Meta before it starts delivering, which can take a while.

When you do come back to Madgicx, make sure you refresh the Ads Manager 2.0 page to see the latest data.

If you launched using Madgicx Optimized Structure, Madgicx will add your new audiences to the existing campaigns, so please look inside these campaigns to find your creations.

If you’d like to use the lead generation campaign, try launching the assets through the Madgicx Optimized Structure, or choose an existing campaign with the lead objective: both solutions will let you use the lead objective.

• On Madgicx, you can only choose two types of objectives: Leads and Conversions. You can set any website event as a conversion, so these two options cover all possible objectives.
• If you cannot click on the drop-down menu, then it is possible that you are using the Madgicx Optimized Structure. These 4 campaigns organized by funnel stages are already running and Madgicx cannot change the objective for existing campaigns.
• To solve this, you can pick another campaign and select the objective you want.
• Alternatively, you can delete the Optimized Structure campaign and try again. This time it will allow you to select the objective.
• If the issue persists, please reach out to the support team for further assistance.

There are several reasons why Madgicx audiences may not deliver. Try the following solutions to resolve this issue:

• First, if the ads are in review, please wait until Meta approves them.
• The ad budget may be too low to get enough impressions.
• If they are approved but still not delivering, ensure your placements, regions, age, and gender are not too restrictive. For example, removing a gender might reduce the audience by half.

If none of the above worked for you, or if the audience size is -1, please contact the support team for further assistance.

As a free trial user, you can create up to three audiences. If you’ve exceeded this amount, hop on a Madgicx plan to launch more audiences.

The software will break down the number of visits of website visitors into three levels: infrequent, occasional, and frequent.

Depending on your data, Madgicx AI will sort and categorize these segments. i.e., if you have lots of data and a high-frequency user base that visits your site 100+ times over a relatively short time period, this will skew your segmentation higher. Vice versa for newer sites with a smaller user base.

Madgicx’s software breaks down the group of website visitors into three classifications: High Intent, meaning the visitor took an action that indicates their intention to purchase; Medium Intent, meaning the visitor took an action that indicates they are mid way through the buyer journey (but not ready to make a purchase); and Low Intent, which refers to visitors who did not show any specific intention to purchase.

Examples of high intent visitors include people that didn’t make a purchase but made progress towards this event by adding items to cart, filling out payment information, etc.

Examples of medium intent visitors include people that didn’t make a purchase but gave their personal information to sign up for a newsletter or request you contact them.

Examples of low intent visitors include people that visited your website and left or those that read your blog articles (but didn’t give you any personal information).

The software breaks down the average order value (AOV) into three levels: low (silver), medium (gold), and high (platinum). The classification depends on the different purchase orders you get from your customers.

For example, if you sell clothing which ranges from $5 to $100 per order, your classification will look something similar to:

• Low (silver): purchase order of $5-37
• Medium (gold): purchase order of $38-68
• High (platinum): purchase order of $69-100

eRFM (engagement Recency, Frequency, and Monetary Value) audiences are Madgicx's AI audiences. A key feature of eRFM audiences is their special ability to continuously optimize. The AI will analyze an audience over 24 hours and determine which events are most suitable to optimize for. Then, using the data collected from the event, it will create a lookalike with slight changes in recency, frequency, and monetary value. eRFM audiences are tailor-made to your account, which makes them likely to outperform other audiences.

The AI will run these duplicates anywhere from 1-3 days. Once it's done, the software will pick the top-performing audience and use it for the desired ad set. When the algorithm creates a fully optimized audience, it will automatically label the audience in the Ads Manager as Optimized.

The eRFM audiences are divided into the Customer Module for purchase conversions and the Visitor Module for visitor conversions.

All of the values are dynamic, so they are relative to your account.

There are visitors who are more valuable to your business than others. Some visitors leave after a couple of seconds, whereas others deeply engage with your page and show high intent to perform the desired action.

When you select the Frequent High AOV Potential Visitor audience, for example:

• The software will start by creating an audience based on the broadest parameters: visitors (audience one)
• From visitors, it may then optimize the first audience to create a second one of visitors who have visited multiple times or have spent a significant amount of time on your page
• From audience two, if the size of the audience is large enough, it will then create a third, even more specific audience; for example, it may optimize for an audience of visitors who have visited multiple times AND have spent a significant amount of time on your page
• The system will continue to optimize to get as specific as possible, slimming the audience down to be have a higher frequency visit and AOV, until the audience is no longer large enough to deliver
• For future reference, all audiences will be labeled as Optimized, so that you can find them later

When launching existing ads, Madgicx will preserve the existing comments and reactions to your ads. If you have an ad running with multiple IDs, we'll use the ad ID with the most reactions and comments.

This tactic is extremely valuable since ads with many likes and comments help build rapport and social proof for your business.

To enable white-labeling and change the name stamp that appears on all assets you create with Madgicx, head to Settings.

Click on the drop-down menu of the account you want to edit, and find “Name Stamp”. Click on the pencil icon 📝 and change the name from Madgicx to any name you want.

This name will automatically be applied to all asset names that you create through Madgicx.

Try these steps to resolve the issue:

1. Start by selecting a longer time frame in the top right corner of the Ad Launcher
2. Madgicx will only display campaigns, ad sets, and ads that have at least one impression; if your ads do not have impressions, you can find them by searching for the ad ID within Ad Launcher.

If you can’t resolve the issue, contact our support team via our chat support.

You can only launch ads into existing ad sets using the Ad Launcher. To launch a new ad set, you must create one using the Audience Launcher.

There are four types of automation tactics:

• Revive
• Stop Loss
• Sunsetting
• Surf

Stop Loss and Surf are triggered based on your today's performance and reset at midnight (or a different time you set). Revive and Sunsetting, however, never reset.

Revive triggers depending on performance within a time frame of your choice. Sunsetting occurs gradually over time, reducing the budget over several days before finally pausing the ad set when the performance drops to the level you specify.

Here is what you should do if your automation isn’t firing:

1. Check your automation settings: Review the automation’s criteria and conditions are correct based on what you want to achieve. 
2. Compare the data: Compare the actual data with the automation rule criteria. If the criteria were met and the automation didn’t trigger, you should get in touch with our support team via live chat. 

Madgicx's automation will carry out automated checks based on:

• Live performance stats
• Time cycles

This means that how often automations trigger depends on how you define the triggers and the times in which they can operate. 

Automations perform periodic checks to monitor whether the performance has reached the values you set as triggers (and fire if it has). Some automated tasks reset at a time you select, and some carry out a one-time permanent action.

In Automation Strategies and Custom Automation, you can also define the hours and days in which the automated rules can monitor performance and fire.

To check the status of each of your tactics, select “Automation” on the left sidebar menu and navigate to “Automation Overview”. 

From here, you can 

• Turn your automations on and off
• Search for specific automations
• See the action frequency of each automation
• Edit the settings of each automation trigger 

“AND” conditions all have to occur for the automation to fire: e.g., ROAS >3 AND Purchases >100 AND Amount Spent < $1000.

In the example above, all 3 conditions have to be satisfied for the automation to fire.

When using “OR” conditions, the automation will fire if any one of the conditions is satisfied: e.g., turn the ad (back) on if ROAS >1.6 in the last 3 days OR ROAS >1.2 in the last 7 days.

In this “OR” example, reaching a ROAS of above 1.2 over the past 7 days would make the automation fire, even if a 1.6 ROAS wasn’t reached over the past 3 days, and vice versa. 

To switch between AND and OR, click on the text that reads vertically.

In the last step of your automation tactic setup, you have the chance to select the campaigns and ad sets you'd like to run your automation tactics with.

There are 3 levels of selection

Auto-select means: whenever you launch a new ad set within a campaign or a new ad within an ad set, the tactic will automatically be applied.

If you are advertising different products with different costs per purchase or have different performance goals for different countries, you can build tailored automation tactics for each country, product, or more.

If you have already launched the automation tactic and want to change the campaigns selected, go to Automation Overview, click on the three dots, and then “Edit” (pencil symbol) next to your automation tactic.

Once you have made the changes you want, save them, and you are good to go 🚀

If you are looking for a pre-built automation tactic or strategy that we don’t have, you can create the automation using custom automations.

If you can’t find the action you want to automate, you’ll need to submit a feature request.

This depends on the amount of data the automation should use when calculating the trigger point. Automations which calculate data using longer-term periods can be skewed by today’s data. This is because today’s data is the most unreliable and can really skew your results.

However, when using short time periods to base data off that leads your automation to firing, you may need to include today’s data to have more complete data and a better picture of your results.

There are 24 different actions for custom automations that you can create. You can use these actions to create all manner of automations for different purposes. The amount of actions available depends on the level (ad, ad set, campaign) you create the automation for. 

You can set the following automations to launch when all your conditions apply:

• Pause - pauses the asset indefinitely
• Pause for today - pauses the asset for today and restarts it tomorrow
• Start - launches the asset
• Set budget - assigns a budget to the asset 
• Increase budget - gives more budget to the asset
• Decrease budget - takes away budget from the asset
• Set bid - assigns a bid
• Increase bid - increases the bid amount
• Decrease bid - decreases the bid amount
• Set bid strategy - assigns an approach (lowest cost with/without bid cap, cost cap) to spending budget
• Duplicate - creates a new asset identical to this one
• Set spending limit - assigns a minimum spend target and bid cap (CBO only)
• Increase spending limit - increases minimum or maximum spend limit
• Decrease spending limit - decreases minimum or maximum spend limit
• Remove spending limit - removes the minimum/maximum budget limits
• Delete - deletes the asset
• Add to name - adds a text that you specify to the asset’s name
• Replace text in name - replaces the asset’s name with a text that you specify
• Optimize gender - optimizes budget allocation based on your performance trends for specific genders
• Optimize age - optimizes budget allocation based on your performance trends for specific age groups
• Optimize locations - optimizes budget allocation based on your performance trends for specific countries, regions, and designated market areas (DMAs)
• Optimize platforms - optimizes budget allocation based on your performance trends for specific platforms
• Optimize placements - optimizes budget allocation based on your performance trends for ad placement
• Optimize devices - optimizes budget allocation based on your performance trends for specific device usage

You set the rules according to which the automations trigger, including the performance level and the timeframe.

It's normal to experience some inconsistency within your account. Stop Loss protects your budget from overspending by pausing underperforming ad sets or ads. Some ad sets/ads that performed well yesterday may not perform well today, and we want to automate tracking of this by pausing the ad sets/ads for the day, so we don't bleed extra money. 

Stop Loss is a daily tactic, and you set a time for the tactic to turn the ad or ad set back on after it's been paused for the day.

Media buying involves attribution delays. For example, if someone saw your ad in the morning and later came back and made a purchase, there is a delay in attributing the purchase to the ad. Delayed attribution means you may think an ad is underperforming, and so you turn it off, but — in reality — it has met your performance requirements, and you’d want to turn it back on. 

Revive takes care of that for you. The tactic “revives” ads and ad sets that perform well but have been turned off because of delayed attribution. 

It's crucial to have an active Revive tactic on each level where you have an active Stop Loss tactic.

Sunsetting is a tactic designed to stop bad-performing ad sets permanently, rather than on a turning on/off daily.

Sunsetting shuts off underperforming ad sets for good. The tactic monitors your ad sets over time, decreasing budgets for underperformers and permanently pausing ad sets that constantly don’t perform well.

There are situations in which a stop-loss is simply not enough. For example, what happens if an ad set continues to be triggered by the stop-loss and shows no sign of improvement? 

Sunsetting serves as the alternative, providing you with a way to turn off an asset permanently while still providing the asset with ample time to prove itself. 

You can choose a spending limit that will initiate a check when reached. Once that check has been initiated, the Sunsetting tactic will scan to make sure that the asset falls within the performance criteria you set. If it meets the trigger point set for bad performance, Madgicx will then decrease the budget.

There is an option to set spending limits for four different performance levels, so you can give more leniency to normally good-performing assets.

Once the budget has been lowered, the next spending limit check will determine whether to pause the asset or leave it running. Again, these limits can differ depending on the performance level of the asset. If the asset is still performing badly once it has reached this second check, the tactic will pause it. 

Surf is a daily tactic that allows you to scale your performing ad sets and campaigns in real-time. When your ad sets are performing above average, you want to maximize their results in this time window by increasing budgets to get as much out of your ads as possible. 

When you set up the Surf tactic, you provide Madgicx with rules which trigger on your account as soon as it shows optimal performance. For example, if you've reached more than one purchase and the day has just begun, you would want to “surf” up the budget in real-time to bring in as many more purchases as possible.

Note: We allow you to surf on the ad-set or campaign level, depending on how you optimize your budgets. i.e., ad-set level Surf is meant for ad sets using ad-set budget optimization, while campaign-level Surf is meant for campaigns running with CBO.

Surf is a tactic used for scaling well-performing campaigns and ad sets by increasing the budget after a conversion has happened.

Every day, the tactic checks if the pre-defined performance levels are met. Check if an event is suitable for the tactic by making sure that the average cost per conversion for acquisition is less than the average daily ad spend. 

Madgicx media buyers recommend applying the tactic to an event that occurs more than once per day to ensure the tactic will trigger and optimize the campaign's performance.

1. Set up the conditions/actions

Condition 1: Budget increase

If EVENT occurs X times or more and asset spend is less than Y => Surf.

We want to Surf at the beginning of the asset's daily journey, so we will set an X that will happen in the 10% spend of the entire asset’s budget. This means we'll have enough time to Surf and see the results. 

Y can be the average cost per X EVENTs or 10% lower so it will be recognized as a good result. Another way to do this is to choose the KPI for cost per 1 EVENT and multiply it by 0.9 to have it recognize good results for that event.

Set a "Max Surf". We recommend putting the ad-set budget as the limit.

If Condition 1 exceeds the given parameters, then the asset’s budget will increase. 

The software will recognize the asset's budget and automatically segment it by low, medium, or high segments based on dynamic accounts values. 

Madgicx then segments the performance by checking the Asset's ROAS (performance in last 7 days and 3 days).

3. Apply the tactic on ad sets

The last step of creating the tactic will show you a list of all running acquisition campaigns and ad sets. Mark the assets that you would like to be affected. Double click the check box to ensure assets you subsequently add to these ad sets and campaigns will also have the automation running on them.

The Madgicx automation tactics will only affect acquisition assets because retargeting and retention usually consist of smaller audiences. Therefore, running the automation tactics is less effective and would most likely result in budget loss.

If you want to use automation on non-acquisition assets, you need to create a custom automation tactic because those can be applied to any funnel stage.

The creative performance graph is a tool that sometimes goes overlooked by many users when it happens to be one of our most advanced analytical tools that we offer. The chart is a comparison graph of spend vs. revenue displaying each creative's performance allowing the user to easily see the best/worst performing creatives.

• Min spend - input a value to show only ads with higher spend than the entered value
• Max spend - input a value to show only ads with lower spend than the entered value
• Filter - filter which ads will be displayed by checking one or more from the available filters such as: dimension, age, gender, placement, device, ARR segment, and country

AI feature tag‍

Within the filter tab, you will see an option named "AI Feature Tag." This is feature allows you to analyze components of creatives and filter creatives based on specific elements. Our software will automatically recognize and tag all creatives elements such as: clothing, animals, weather, indoor/outdoor, materials, electronics, expressions, etc.

This allows the user to see and filter based on these specific components and better understand them as KPIs.

Hover over individual creatives along the bottom or on individual points on the chart to see more detailed information on how individual creatives are performing.  

Use this information to decide what advertising tactics to use when producing new creatives.

Launch ads from Creative Insights using creative clusters

You can open selected ads directly into the creative cluster chart from the creative insights page. This allows you to pick and choose the best combination of creatives and ad copies for any of the selected ads.  

You can sort your creatives along the bottom of the creative performance graph based on specific KPIs such as:

• Revenue - high first
• Revenue - low first
• Amount spent - high first
• Amount spent - low first
• Creative type
• Creative ratio

Launching new Ad combinations into existing ad sets/campaigns is made simple with Madgicx using Creative Clusters 💪

The first step is to head to creative clusters section which can be selected from the Launcher tab.

This Table displays all of the ad account’s creatives in the first row.

In the first column on the left are all of the ad accounts' ad copies (the ad text). The rest of the table displays if there is an existing combination of the creative and ad copy for each intersection and you can generate new and existing combinations of ads to existing campaigns and ad sets in one click.

You can control which ads creatives and copies are shown by adjusting the time frame: ads that were active at that time will be shown.  

How to find top creatives

Our color-coding system helps you track your best performing ads.

Dark green as the best performance
Light green as good performance
Light pink as bad performance
Dark pink as the worst performance

Choose a KPI from the drop down to set what the performance is based on.

Control displayed ads

Discover ads by how much they spent, set a value and it will only display ads that spent more than that value.

The filter allows you to control which ads will be displayed by checking one or more from the creatives types, dimension, age, gender, placement, device, ARR, and country.

Once you've selected your Ads, click the create button on the top right.

Then select where you'd like to apply this creative.

• You can select specific ad sets,
• You can decide to apply your new creative into Ad sets which don't already have that creative combination.
• You can search for a specific ad set you'd like to launch your creatives into using the search bar.

In a few clicks you can launch your new creatives into preexisting campaigns 🙌

Madgicx categorizes the funnel stages based on the ad set level, not on the campaign level.

Classification is set on the audience level, so you can target new prospects, website visitors, etc.

Because the audience is defined on the ad set level, all the ads of a specific ad set are always in the same funnel stage as the ad set.

A campaign is a container of ad sets. If all the ads are set inside this campaign as the same funnel, the campaign will also get a funnel stage.

Therefore, campaign and ad funnels can not be controlled because they are derived from the ad set.

You can’t change the currency from the one defined for your ad account.

Customize which metrics you see by clicking on the down arrow next to the name of the metric in the top row of the column.

This will open a list from which you can search and choose.

You can also add and delete columns to display more metrics.

If you can’t access your Madgicx account, double check that you are using the right email and password and retry to log in.

If you still cannot log in, try resetting your password.

eRFM Customer Module uses a grading system that is measured by dynamic values captured from your pixel data.  ‍

eRFM stands for - Engagement, Recency, Frequency, and Monetary Value.

A key feature of eRFM audiences is its special ability to continuously optimize. The AI will analyze an audience over 24 hours and determine which events are most suitable to optimize for. Then, using the data collected from the event, it will create a lookalike audience with slight changes in recency, frequency, and monetary value. eRFM audiences are tailor-made to your account, which makes them likely to outperform other audiences.

The AI will run these duplicates anywhere from 1-3 days. Once it's done, the software will pick the top-performing audience and use it for the desired ad set. When the algorithm creates a fully optimized audience, it will automatically label the audience on the Ads Manager as Optimized.

The eRFM audiences are divided into the Customer Module for purchase conversions and the Visitor Module for visitor conversions.

How does it work?

Let's take Frequent High AOV Potential Visitor Audience as an example:

• The software will start by creating an audience based on the most broad parameter and visitors
• From there, it will continuously optimize to get more specific, as long as the audience stays large enough
• From visitors, it may then optimize from the first audience to create a second audience of visitors who have visited multiple times or have spent a significant amount of time on your page
• From audience two (if possible) it will then create a third, even more specific audience; for example, it may optimize for an audience of visitors who have visited multiple times AND have spent a significant amount of time on your page
• The system will continue to optimize to get as specific as possible, until the audience is no longer large enough to deliver
• These audiences will be labeled as Optimized, so that you can find them later

AOV (Average Order Value)

This module uses information from your pixel to determine lookalike audiences based on visitors to your site. These audiences will be broken down into 18 different audience types.

The 18 audience types will be combinations of the following 3 aspects:

1. Low, Medium, and High AOV
   The software breaks down the average order value to three levels — low, medium and high — by dynamically calculating the prices on your shop
2. Frequency
   The software will break down the number of visits of website visitors into three levels — infrequent, occasional, and frequent
3. Intent
   The software will break down your visitors behavior into two levels — high intent (the visitor took an action that indicates his intention to purchase) and mid intent (regular visitors who did not show any specific intention to purchase)

Frequent, Occasional, or Infrequent Audiences represent the quantity in which the user performed a selected engagement.

There are visitors who are more valuable to your business than others. Some visitors leave after a couple of seconds, whereas others deeply engage with your page and show high intent to perform the desired action.

Using the Frequent High AOV Potential Visitor Audience, you can build a segment of your most frequent visitors who demonstrated the highest intent to convert. These audiences tend to perform significantly better since the custom data we use to build the lookalike audience is made up of visitors with high quality traits, and due to the unique optimization process which takes place outside of Facebook's platform.

If the algorithm can create a fully optimized audience by adding all of the rules then the algorithm will automatically apply an “Optimized” label to the audience name within the Ads manager.  Leverage AI technology to discover and target your most profitable audiences. Why is my ad set not spending or delivering?

This is most often because of the way the ad set was configured. You should check the:

Audience size:

Often, when this happens, it's because your audience is too small. Be mindful of making your audience very specific. If you do, it makes it harder for Meta to find accounts that match them. This, in turn, means your audience size shrinks accordingly. You should keep the most relevant audience attributes and remove some of the others. At the same time, you should check your audience exclusions to make sure you aren't excluding too many people based on your selection.

Location:

The location of the people you're targeting impacts your performance. For example, if you're a local business and are targeting a small geolocation, your audience will likely be much smaller, making it more difficult for Meta to spend your ad budget. As with the audience settings, you should also check your location exclusions to see if you aren't restricting your audience too much.

Budget:

Your budget can also affect your ad delivery. Meta manages your ad budget according to how you set up your ad. Firstly, if your budget is too low, your ads will stop delivering once the budget cap is reached. An example of this could be that your ad set spends the budget early in the day, so it will stop delivering until the next day when the budget is replenished. If this is the case, you should increase your budget.

All of these may factor into why your ad set isn't delivering or spending its budget.

Facebook cracks down on users who abuse their Advertising Policies 😬

This is out of our control, so we highly suggest reading through their Policies to look for where a mistake may have happened.

Audience size is a delicate issue because the solution tends to be unique for each user's needs. It refers to the number of potential customers who could see your ad. The right audience size depends on your campaign goals and the stage in your marketing funnel.

We want to focus mainly on the top of the funnel (acquisition) for users just starting.

We aim to drive a large pool of potential customers to our site and convert them into paying customers. We want to continue to grow this audience until we have a large enough group in our retargeting segment.

Once we see a significant increase in traffic and pixel data, we reallocate our spending to retargeting and, eventually retention audiences.

Once the retargeting segment is large enough, you split the spending allocation close to 70% acquisition and 30% retargeting and retention. Again - this is usually different for every ad account, but 70/30 tends to be a good split.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter how big or expensive an audience is or how many times you reach that audience as long as the ROAS is where you want it to be.

Finding your ad set

Select the ad set you would like to take a close look at using the dropdown at the top of the screen. Then search for your ad set using the toolbar at the top of the page. This will allow you to:

1. Search for a specific campaign
2. Filter your search by only selecting acquisition, retargeting, or retention  
3. See if your ad set appears in the dropdown

Analyzing your account

The line at the top of the screen represents a weekly time frame, and the small icons represent actions that have taken place on the account, e.g., pausing the ad set, shifting the budget, and showing who was responsible for making changes on the selected ad set. This way you can understand whether a specific action (such as adjusting the budget) had a positive or negative impact on your account.

Grading ad set performance with key metrics

An ad set's performance is graded by key metrics. The metrics are divided into categories to help you understand which metrics represent performance across all areas of your ad account. First, you'll see our basic key metrics, and then below will be lagging indicators, followed by content performance.

Key metrics:‍

• Amount spent

Lagging indicators:‍

• Cost /Unique outbound clicks
• Cost/unique add to cart
• Add to cart/Amount spent  

Content performance:

• CTR
• Frequency

How to compare metrics and leverage your performance

If you see your CTR rate has increased and your ROAS has increased, then you can conclude that you're converting customers based on your ads. However, if you see that the CTR is high but the ROAS is low, then there might be an issue once people enter your website, such as the loading speed.

Note: When reviewing your results, it's crucial to look at multiple metrics over a few days in order to make accurate conclusions.

Time frame

Your ad set is sorted according to its daily performance. You can see 7 days at a time, or you can change the dates by clicking on the arrows above the key metrics to adjust the timeframe.

Your performance on Facebook might be inconsistent sometimes. Meaning that ad sets that were crushing it two weeks ago might not be performing well today. Analyze your daily performance to track your ad sets in real-time and improve your performance over time!

Yes! In the Ad Launcher, click the "Create New Ads" button, which will take you the Ad Creation tool. There, you can upload creatives, write ad copy, or reuse designs and texts you've already utilized before by selecting them from your library.

Special ad accounts

Some areas that Facebook defines as ‘special ads’ receive different treatment: Social Issues, Politics, Credit Opportunities, Employment Opportunities, and/or Housing Opportunities or Related Services.

If you advertise in these areas, there are a few restrictions on your advertising that you'll need to keep in mind. These translate to restrictions on the Madgicx platform: you won't be able to create acquisition prospecting audiences in the Madgicx ad launcher in addition to any restrictions Facebook has in place.

You can, however, still use any audience in the acquisition re-engagement, retargeting, and retention categories. Additionally, the rest of the platform, such as the analyzing tools and automations tools, will not be affected by these restrictions.

With Pixel issues there are two reasons:

• The wrong pixel is set as default
• The pixel is not set up properly

If you think you have the wrong pixel selected

Madgicx allows you to manage and switch between multiple pixels. To ensure that the correct pixel is selected.:

1. Go to Settings
2. In the "Ad accounts" tab, scroll down to your ad accounts
3. Select the correct pixel for the ad account from the dropdown

If you think the pixel is not set up properly

Madgicx takes your data from your Facebook pixel, so you need to give us permission to access this data.

• Go to Facebook Business Manager to edit or create a pixel
• Learn how to get Facebook pixel permissions

After any permissions changes : go to Settings and click "Reauthenticate"

If you don’t have any pixel data, you better start with Madgicx's Audience Studio to discover hidden interest-targeting audiences and start running them to gain some data.

This is because Madgicx Audience Launcher relies on Facebook pixel data to create lookalike audiences.

You want to find as many interest-based audiences as possible who are close to your target audiences in the Facebook Ads Manager.

So you can start by selecting brands, known competitors, industries from the same field of interest, relevant magazines, and preset interests on Facebook.

The less pixel data and more niche the product, the smaller and better defined the audiences will be.

Though this seems like a time-consuming process, after spending an amount of money and time, you will be able to understand which interests work best for you and gather sufficient pixel data, which will help you create powerful lookalike audiences.

If you did not collect enough pixel data using the approach above, continue optimizing what you have by:

• Finding new interests within the same segment
• Isolating the single interests used inside the original ad set to ensure delivery

The Audience Mixer is a part of the Audience Studio that allows you to create multiple intersections between your selected audiences and interests.

The Audience Mixer has four functional containers which serve to create a unique audience:

1. For custom and LLA audiences exiting in your account
2. For interests new or existing that performed well in the past
3. To intersect interests with new interests, beyond custom and lookalike audiences
4. An exclusion container to avoid the wrong targeting

"Mixing" these containers together will result in a sophisticated target audience. Each container will combine the selected assets as one, and between the three inclusion containers: you will get the users that intersect between all three, excluding the audience who have been excluded.

For example, if you select one of your lookalike audiences, a custom audience, and multiple interests: the audiences will be added to the first group with an "OR" relationship between them, and all of the interests will be added to the first intersection with an "OR" relationship between the interests.

However, between the audiences and the interests, there will be an "AND" relationship. This means that the audience created must be found in one or more of the audiences in the first selection, "AND" must also be interested in one or more interests from the first intersection. This narrows down your audience to find people within your audience who are interested in specific products, brands, and more. You can drag and drop your interests to create a second intersection which will narrow down this audience even further.  

Additionally, you can also exclude specific interest groups, so this audience will be narrowed down to include only those interested in X, Y, Z excluding a brand, product, or competitor.

At the bottom of the page, you’ll see your potential reach. If you feel that the potential reach is too small you might want to consider adjusting your intersection relationship or your audience exclusions.

As you can see, the Audience mixer can be used to narrow down your audience so that you reach your target audience, or it can be used to create a powerful interest-based audience.

Go to the Audience Studio from the Madgicx menu by clicking the settings icon on the left.

The Audience Studio helps you discover new interest-based audiences and mix and match them with your top-performing audiences. Go to the “Discover new interests” tab on the right, where a list of suggested interests will appear. You can select the boxes on the left to include or exclude them in your new audience.

Once your interests are added to the list of included audiences in the “Audience mixer,” you can drag them across to the other intersection boxes to the right to create the rules and conditions you want to apply to your audience. 

You can also add all your exclusions for interests that aren’t a good fit for you. Doing this allows you to be super specific and test different audience segments so you can learn which ones perform the best and are worth investing in.

Click the “Launch” button to choose the creatives to use and where to launch them. Read our help article for a comprehensive guide on how to use the Audience Studio.

If your Google ad account isn’t showing in Madgicx when you try to connect and search for it, you must check whether you have the right permissions and reauthenticate the connection. Ensure the same email you connected to the Madgicx is the one that has permission to access your Google ad account. If you’re missing permissions, follow the steps above to get them.

Reauthenticate the relevant account in the “Data Sources” tab and try loading the report again. You can do it here.

Sure. You can download the report as a PDF, and you can get a publicly accessible link to share with your clients. You also have the ability to disable the link should you no longer wish to share access to your report.

Goal completion is only available for metrics that can be summarized, for example, clicks, ad spend, purchases, etc., and not for ROAS, MER, or conversion rates.

Sure! You can connect multiple accounts - Meta, TikTok, Shopify, Google Ads, Google Analytics 4, and Klaviyo to Madgicx to see the data in One-Click Report. Click “Data Sources” at the top right of the page and add the accounts you want to connect to.

While this feature is not available at the moment, it could be included in future One-Click Report updates. You can always check out our latest releases and subscribe for updates to be informed when we add this feature and others. Also, we’d love to hear of any other feature suggestions that would improve Madgicx for you.

If there is a certain template you’re missing, you can either create it yourself and it saves automatically, or you can submit a feature request.

You can add more metrics to a One-Click Report by clicking the edit button and dragging and dropping the widget type you want to use into one of the empty spaces. Once in place, click it to edit the metrics you want to see.

Reports save automatically.

Set your KPI on the top right and select the time frame you want to examine. Then, simply look at the map widget on the top right.

Countries colored green are outperforming those colored red, while those in gray haven’t performed at all.

In short, good countries are those that have performed well in terms of your chosen KPI whereas bad countries are those that haven’t.

To determine the performance, we classify each country into three different tiers depending on the spending power of the residents of these countries (based on GDP per capita). The higher the tier is, the lower we set the bar for “good performance,” since we know these countries have a great profit potential.

Our algorithm takes your selected KPI and uses your average account benchmark as the minimum for good performance in tier 3. In tier 2, we lower the bar to 50% of this performance, and in tier 1 to 25%.

The potential uplift of your chosen KPI is calculated based on excluding funds for regions which haven’t performed well, with the budget spent there being allocated to countries which are performing well.

Find your best performing country for acquisition or retargeting by clicking on the “Filter Data” in the top left-hand corner and filter by “Funnel stage”. Then select whether you want to assess the countries by ad, ad-set, or campaign performance and indicate the funnel stage you would like to see the data for.

Sort your locations by performance by clicking on the “See All Locations” above the map. You will see all the countries sorted out in a table by GDP per capita. You can select the metrics that are important to you and sort the countries according to each by clicking the up/down arrows on the relevant column to display the highest value at the top.

The “Changes in % over time” widget displays the change in your chosen KPI for the country in the current timeframe compared to the previous period. For example, if you select a timeframe of 7 days, the widget will compare the performance of the country in the past 7 days with its performance between 14-8 days ago.

The goal of this widget is to let you monitor performance trends. If you spot a poor-performing country in the map widget, check its performance trend in the “Changes over time” widget. If its performance is downtrending, it might be a good idea to exclude it from your targeting. However, if you see a positive performance trend, you could still give it a chance.

The country tiers are defined according to their level of disposable income in USD (GDP per capita).

Targeting Language is the specific language you ask Facebook to target. For example, if you target the USA, you may specifically target English or Spanish speakers.

However, the Spoken Country Language is the formal language spoken in this country, regardless of your targeting. This language is defined for the country in which your ads are being shown. For example, English is spoken in Australia, Canada, UK, USA, etc., so you can see how your ads are doing for audiences speaking this language across several regions.

Copy Language is the language which you are using in your ad. You can use English to target people in non-English speaking countries and measure its performance. If you also target them in their native language, you can compare how the English copy does against the native-language copy and understand whether you should invest in translation.

In the “Language” widget above, we can see that our ads are performing well for Thai speakers and all the ads are in English. Here we could scale our ads for Thai speakers and even experiment by launching ads in Thai to see whether this boosts conversion and compare performance versus ads in English.

Save specific data views by clicking the “Filter Data” button in the top left corner, setting the parameters, and then clicking the “Save this View” button, entering a name for it.

Sure. You can send reports to your clients, take screenshots of the map and the other widgets in the feature.

You can screenshot the insights you find in the Creative Insights tool and send them to your clients.

You can see creatives from specific campaigns, ad sets, or ads by filtering the data and entering the relevant name or ID.​​

Madgicx uses a relative comparison of revenue and spend.

If your business tracks the revenue data in FB, we help you grasp the creative-format performance by giving a quick overview of the share of these values against your overall revenue and spend.

Use the “Smart Filter” in the top right of the Creative Matrix to view segment creative performance by funnel stage.

The loading time depends on the amount of data Madgicx needs to pull from Facebook. This means that loading data views for longer time frames days involves pulling more data and will increase the loading time.

Madgicx internally classifies your creatives and we use numbers as reference. You can find the full list of creatives by clicking on the “See All Creatives” button or by clicking on the previews.

Madgicx relies on our internal creative classification AI to understand the creative format, but some ads may use a different type of creative from the ones listed. Because the system can't recognize these formats, we mark them as "Other” to keep the data cleaner and more accurate. 

The AI Feature tags are given a percentage value which reflects your total revenue (in green) from this tag and the percentage of your ad spend for the tag (gray bar).

The numbers in Creative Insights can differ from the ones in the Dashboard and Ads Manager 2.0 because Creative Insights pulls data from Facebook Ads just for ads. Meanwhile, the Dashboard and Ads Manager 2.0 pull numbers from campaigns and ad sets.

If you can’t see your analytics for a certain funnel stage, it’s likely that your account never engaged in that funnel stage, so it has no data to show on the dashboard.

The dashboard shows your performance depending on the date range you select. To see today’s data, manually select a date range to include today's date.

‍Note: Time frames of Last n Days do not include the same day. To see today's data, manually pick the time frame to the last n days including today.

If you can’t see a metric you’re looking for on the Dashboard, click the small black arrow to open the dropdown list and reveal all metrics. You can use the search function to find the metric you are looking for.

Save audiences in the Audience mixer by clicking the “Save audience selection” button in the top-right corner of the mixer. You need to assign the audience a name and here it is best to be as detailed as possible so you don’t get confused about which audience is which later on.

You can see which audiences and interests have been working for you by clicking on the “Explore Audiences By Performance” tab and then sorting the results according to your chosen KPI and timeframe. If we sort the table by “Interests”, we can see the interests that drive the best performance and then head to the “Discover New Interests” tab to find similar interests to our high-performing ones and add them to the Audience mixer.

Click the checkboxes for the interests you would like to see similar options for and then click the “Discover Similar” button.

Check the “Included” checkboxes to add the interests to the audience mixer.

Prioritize audiences to target based on past performance and your niche. Then discover new interests that are similar to your top performers and consider adding them. By testing the audiences you create, you can generate a winning combination.

One ad set will be launched when you use the Ad Launcher for audiences you have created in the Audience Studio.

One. When you add audiences to the Audience mixer, the resulting audience is a single composite of the different interests and audiences you add.

The Audience Studio offers suggestions of new audiences that are in similar categories to the audiences you have already launched, but you can also search for interests not listed. To search for new audiences head to the “Discover New Interests” tab and then type your query in the search box.

You can filter your audiences by:

• Custom audience
• Lookalike audience
• Interests
• All audiences

To do so, click on the dropdown (default: All audiences) to filter as you wish.

The potential reach you need depends on the product/service you are advertising and how niche it is. The more niche your product/service, the smaller the audience size should be. In general, you want to be looking at the performance (e.g., ROAS) of your audiences and then select similar ones of a similar size to test with. However, if you are launching specific offers (e.g., an offer throughout the month of people with birthdays in November), you may decide to widen your audience reach to maximize the potential of your ads.
